My first thought was to save money and paint the fake brick paneling on the fireplace and put a band aid on it for now......then I realized that that was a waste of time. To the touch this stuff just feels cheap. This is the only fireplace in the house and would really shine with a new tile face or even just drywalled with a new black box would be an improvement.
oh and the ceiling tiles will be going too! Really a drop ceiling?
