Above is a photo of the house's paint history the red looks like it was the original color, Sort of a barn color. The blue on top of it was the color of the house before it was primed (which isn't bad, but it's not good either). For this house I think the paint color should be dark and bold with just a touch of color.
Benjamin Moore makes a line of historical colors, these are safe and pretty much idiot proof. I am not suggesting any color in the historical family will work on the outside of a house, such as the time my dad painted the entire back of our house in Stuart gold (not a good look). But these colors are a good starting point.
