My New Rug Obsession.

I know I know enough with the rugs already..  But the idea of taking a traditional Turkish rug worth thousand of dollars, cutting it redying it and piecing it back together makes my wheels turn.

Decked Out III.

We have some major deck progress... The outside of the deck still needs to be painted to match the house, It really extends the living space.  Now if we could only figure out how to eliminate all the bugs...

Just an FYI the windows and doors still nee to be painted on this side of the house.

Beams In.........

It's in and it looks amazing!!! It is the perfect compliment to the grey kitchen cabinets. This support was put in to replace the wall that we removed in the kitchen, it was a major eye sore but we turned it into a gorgeous feature in the kitchen .  
Well done dad you really made this  happen.

Catherines Custom Painting...

We are on the books.

Cathy is a very talented friend of mine that I have been working with for about six years.  We have known each other since middle school and she is my favorite person to collaborate with.  Oh I like working with you too dad....

I am planning several prints to go in a few of the rooms in the house. Print on the walls creates texture and makes the rooms look cozy and warm.  What I love about Cathy is she comes in and paints the "wallpaper" so that there is no glue, running out of rolls, or even getting sick of the print.  

When your tired of the print some sand paper and you can paint right over it.  I have been collecting some prints over the past few months for several of the rooms at sunset.  Here is what I have come up with so far... I am open to comments and suggestions.  I think? :)

Here are the ideas I have for the girls room (REMINDER these are the not the colors.  I will use a few shades darker then the wall and the wall color. So these are just examples of pattern).I'm thinking both rooms will get the same print?  Or maybe each set of girls get to pick a print?  Or I get to make the executive decision...ya I think that's the plan.

Here are some pictures of  a recently finished wall print we did in a condo in Chicago I am working on.. after we repainted the whole place and put up some book cases next to the fire place... Cathy came in and worked some magic.  Next we will be working on furnishing this gorgeous condo.

I love the way the stripes run on the planks.  Love it!

The area all the way on the left of the deck will be a step down to grass so our little pups are safe

Ladies No Fighting in The Bathroom!

Kennedy Prints.  Is a letter press company owned by Amos Paul Kennedy. I came across His site a few years ago and immediately fell in love with the bold color in his work.  I thought one of his prints would work well in the Girls bathroom on Sunset.  Below are the plans for the girls bathroom ......

I love the Coffee Series I think these would be great in the kitchen leaning on the shelf against the back splash.  No one loves coffee more then Joanne...No one.
