Kidnapping is a Federal Offense

                  Have you seen this dog?

So the plan was after work today I was supposed to meet Dad at the tile store to pick out the bathroom tile for Hillside......That's it just a trip to the tile store...........

Then he drops the "So how much time do we have?"

Before I could do the whole "I have to get home for Rosie" speech.  He cut me off at the pass by telling me  he had my brother Dom pick  Rosie  up from my house while I was at work and bring her over to my parents house.  In other words Rosie has been kidnapped so he could get me to go to the lumber store.

I'm surprised he didn't put duct tape on my mouth and throw me in the trunk.....but here we were after a long day of work at owl lumber.

After I realized that I had also been kidnapped....I came to and figured we might as well pick out the wood that will cover the beam in the kitchen.  What beam you ask?  This one below.

Dad had actually picked out the color already......he  did a good job.  Turns out he really brought me there to do the leg work about getting it produced into sheets of plywood while he talked on the phone

It's called Shedua.  It's sort of like rosewood but it picks up the grey and the brown from the floor. It's really beautiful.  Good job D.
After we got this whole wood situation figured out......my kidnapper called his partner (my mother) who gave me back my dog.  Wow these people are really sick and I am related to them.

Granite Coma

Back to the granite drawing board.  This is not easy nor  is this remotely close to my favorite material to pick out.  Because of the grey cabinet's I keep second guessing my choices...... Should the counters be light to keep the room light? Should they be dark to tie in the cabinetry? If they are too dark will they take away from the cabinet's? Here are the runners up.......

White Kashmir (I like the grey tones in here)
Snow Leopard
Silver Cloud

Lighting Action

It's on.... The lights are up and they are a nice little detail and the bulbs are so worth the 3 month back order. (I actually forgot I even bought them that's how long it took

For the Birds

So I was taking pictures of the house (surprise surprise) and I looked out the window and saw this. Yes that is a chicken.....with further investigation I found out my neighbor Phil is the owner if this fine bird and 3 of her sisters for that matter. I even got to see an egg being laid. Do you know that noise that that those plastic egg dispenser toy machines make? (sort of a buk buk sound) Well that is the noise that these ladies make when they pop an egg out. Phil told me they lay four eggs a day...Jeez. Jo just make a note when your baking a cake these are the neighbors to borrow eggs from

Closet Update

It was important that the tiny closets in these two rooms were opened up.  To gain this extra space we decided that industrial sliding doors would make the closet excess able at every angle. They look great!  Thanks for hauling all the doors dad.

Hall sconce on a dimmer........love it!!!
Laundry room (Tile looks good)

Master bedroom
Master Bath
mom please remind me to buy bulbs for the sconces in the bathroom.  It is a major buzz kill walking in there flipping the swich and not having bulbs.

Heading back to the front of the house...............through the kitchen and to the right to...................
Nic's Hall Way

And into the door on the right (nee's bathroom)
over the toilet is a high gloss cabinet ovet the toilet. It still has a cover on it. But it looks great keep an eye out I have a detail I will be adding to it later.............

And then onto nee wee's play house..............

Awsomeness Part DUEX

The girls Hall has really shaped up.. Looks like I'm gonna be getting a trundle bed in both rooms for impromptu sleep overs.

Yes Jen this is a giant floor length mirror right outside of your bedroom door. Your dreams are comming true!

Bookcase planning (the final nightmare)..............

The title says it all.  I stopped at the house after work today...... to check out the progress on the bookcase and what not.. I couldn't make it there today and Jo had to make sure the bookcase was exactly what I envisioned.  So I sent her this tragic drawing last night.  To my surprise......It did wonders!
Below is a reminder of the wall we started with
And then it became this..............................................................
 Here we are now..................................................................

The color is perfect. Beyond perfect.  We are making some drawer adjustments and eliminating some (hard to explain)
Here are the two shelves that will go on either side of the TV. I would like to dedicate this bookcase to Joanne, she really made this happen.  Even if I am the brains behind the operation.

New Shades.........

This is what I saw the first time I took a tour of the house.  Apparently the previous owners of our new pad were hoarders.

Here we are now.  Our new door (still needs to be painted and a new lock) I would say a major improvement, the globe outdoor lights will go on either side of this door as well.

The shades are built into this window.  Jo loves to show this feature off.
