Another Day Off..........

Toward the end of last week I had a day off.  What did I do you ask?  Get my nails done? NO. clean my place? NO!  Instead I found this day being donated to Joanne (mom) helping her pick out mirrors for the bathrooms.  Storage is a must!!  So we headed to IKEA .......four cabinets later one fight with the check out girl......and we were outta there.  Here is what we got and where it is going. It's nice to fially have toliets and sinks in the bathrooms!

A tall and skinny medicine cabinett for Nic's bathroom.
The sconce on the right needs to move over an inch. these lights have shades too!
This glossy storage cabinet will hang over nee's toilet and give hime extra storage (in high glass Gray See below) I am also adding one of these in white to the master bathroom.
am also

The Girls Bathrom looks amazing.  Cathy came to check the house out and she said "The pictures don't do this bathroom any justice" I do love this bathroom!  These lights get shades too. The mirror is allready insalled in the girls bath (I wanted this one to recess into the wall.
The masterbath calls for an extra large mirror.  My parents need space for all my dad's old man stuff (nose hair trimmers, 5 toe nail clippers etc. you get the point)
This bathrooom really did turn out well.  Something I wasn't quite sure of but in the end it works.

Most Boring Post Ever

Here are some views from the entry room looking into the kitchen. So you will see the bar area and the desk area.
 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz................................................

Check Cha Check Check Check....Check it Out.

Here is what it's all about.
It's about Bone White  extra long subway tile (Front runner for kitchen back splash) See below
Bone is softer then white. White only really looks good if you have white kitchen cabinets.  Otherwise it has a bathroom effect.
Below are other tiles I liked but probably gonna pass.................Pay attention Jo this involves you.  The annoying overly Italian tile sales guy made a comment "pretty big camera to bring to the tile shop eh"  I replied with a "go big or go home".  Why am I always being tested?

LETS ALL TAKE A TIME OUT AND CHECK OUT THIS CUTE PICTURE OF ROSIE.

AND THIS ONE.....................

Eat it.

You guessed it...... This is a post about the kitchen.  A few minor problems that my guy David is taking care of . One being the cabinet doors above the desk area hit the ceiling and they forgot to cut the hole for the microwave.  Which actually works in our favor because Jo was short a drawer for kitchen utensils (whoops) So through the power of negotiation (aka having an attitude with the cabinet guy).  We got the drawer for free.  Your welcome Joan. God knows I have nothing else to do with my day.

Below we are working on measuring how far we want the granite to come out.  Jo had lots of ideas.  Today we put her through the ringer and made her run errands.

Here is an excerpt  from her e-mail titled: TO DO LIST

"So, after dropping your stuff off, went to home depot. On my way to house forgot the
faucet. Turned around. Brought it to guys. Bought the wrong outlets. Went back to home
depot
and bought right ones.  Now I know how dad feels."  - Joanne

Welcome to the party J.

Next we pick out granite. I have yet to see anything that really wows me.  I wish I made an audio recording of me telling the granite guy his price was too high.  Pretty much Jo stood behind me and repeated back to him what I already said.  It was right up there with getting my teeth cleaned.

MAJOR UPDATE

Things have been moving right along.............  I was unable to go out to the house today but unfortunately my sister W and my mom were able to take a few pictures.  I want to thank U Jen for making an appearance in every photo.

Here we are before the Cabinets arrival.  So you can get a sense of space

We made some adjustments to the plan but all in all things are really shaping up.

Here is the TV Wall
It's not super clear what she is doing here but I would assume she's hungry.
Desk/Bar Wall

I can not tell you how happy I am that I was not at the house at the time this photo was taken. But if I was there I would imagine watching her do this live would be kinda like taking a bullet

                                                                     Moving on................................................

Bathroom Update........

                                                                             Master Bath

This picture sucks.......but you get the idea this bathroom was gross

Here is me pretending to put the light fixture up.  Pointless I know.

Nee's Bathroom

Before this became Nee's Bathroom it was a laundry room.  So we sealed up the door on the left and moved the wall out so that  it was separate from nic's bedroom.  This gave us a bigger bedroom and a place to put Nee's closet.

This is a view from Nee's room looking into his bathroom room (bathroom off the hallway) His closet is now where half of that exterior door would be.

Here is what the inside of his shower looks like now.  I love the dark grey grout
Here is  the sink area

Girls Bathroom
BEFORE
Here is the girls bathroom, before we went to work on it.  Here is the deal.  These girls are slobs.  I love them dearly but you can not imagine the amount of crap they leave laying all over the place.  So I really wanted to give them a well set-up bathroom that was easy to clean and doesn't give them allot of space to put their random products.  (that's what the closet across the hall from the bathroom is for ladies)

These sconces will look great and give this bathroom a touch of sophistication.
I Love how the pink walls work with the grey/green tile.
